This is my second visit to the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair in two years and I am very much impressed by the improved display of products, the presentation of brands and the organization work of HKTDC. Most useful to us is the business-matching meeting service. The organizer provides the list of vendors on its official website before the Fair. My colleague and I get to shop online, go through the database, and pick and choose. It enables us to do our homework before arrival. The Fair is big and has much to offer. There is no way we can effectively cover the Fair without the pre-screening work. However, with the thoughtful support of the organizing staff, we hit the fairground running by attending five pre-arranged business-matching meetings in the first afternoon. We made efficient use of our time and found suitable items, mostly wearable smart watches for outdoor use, to bring back to our e-commerce customers.

At first I received a list of recommendation from the organizer. Based on the relevant supplementary information on the list I managed to pre-select vendors to meet onsite. Without this service I am afraid I would walk the fairground quite aimlessly, making casual connections and scraping the surface without touching the core issues. The organization of the Fair gives me a very positive impression. The flow of activities is logically ordered and tightly managed, and the content of the exhibition is substantial. We started with a walk to cover the major exhibition halls to learn what is available and where to find things. The business-matching meetings took place for us to zero in on our interested areas. The on-site forums are informative, while the reception offers a rare opportunity for us to meet fellow professionals to exchange market intelligence and compare notes.

Chinese watch buyers are transcending the old concept that watches are status symbols and starting to wear them as fashion accessories and for added functionalities. Mindful of this trend, I come to the Fair to see what would attract them. The Hong Kong Fair presents a full range of choices. There are established foreign brands, Made-in-Taiwan and up-and-coming Hong Kong brands. Also, the Fair exposed me for the first time to watch parts such as cases and bracelets and even machinery for watch-making. It's eye opening for me, a first-time visitor. My visit is very well-arranged and meetings thoughtfully facilitated by the organizer. From receiving the invitation and setting foot on the journey in Beijing to completing all pre-arranged meetings and visiting the Fair, all in all it's been a smooth and productive trip. It's been perfect. I have nothing to add and I am most grateful.

We started to import from China around four years ago but we had quality issues with the products made in China.
