We are a casual women’s wear wholesaler from Canada and we have been selling to small independent stores in Canada and the US for more than 40 years. We have never been to either edition of the Hong Kong Fashion Week because the fairs are too late for us. Normally by the time the fair is held, we would be merely weeks away from launching our collections for that season. I have come this time for two reasons, the first is to look for new factories, the second is to find protection for our business from the US tariffs. One of the companies I met through the HKTDC Business Matching service is from Bangladesh,which can export to Canada duty free. We will work with this company for savings. We have also identified two to three other companies that provide UPC Tags, embroidered blouses and hangers. We will likely place test orders for sixto eight styles before committing to a long-term relationship.
